free pictures

We had a coupon for free pictures from picture people ( a mall picture place). While the pictures are not great the were free and fun! Had I known that we were going to have a white background Andra would have worn a different bow; but free is free.
I love this picture. This is Andra’s favorite pose. For some reason she loves her tongue out to the side. We call it her Tony Parker pose.

Andra's early birthday gift

We went and got Andra an early birthday gift today; happy bike helmet. No she cannot walk by herself but she can now go with us on bike rides!! She did not care that we tried three on before we found one that fit. She is getting very good at standing by herself.

Kalmar Family Appreciation Day

We went to Andrew’s work today for Family Appreciation Day. It was great fun to see where he works and to meet his new co-workers. It is very different from CC. Kalmar makes these rough terrain cargo handlers for the military. It was the first time I got to see one up close. Andrew really enjoys his job and that is great. We had fun meeting a nd talking with different people and somewhat seeing how they put the RTCHs together.

In addition it was Andra’s first time to play with a balloon. Fun Fun. She had a blast and did not cry when it went missing. (we had no desire to bring it home.)

Where's Andra?

I had to work New Student Orientation at school so it was Daddy and Andra morning. Andrew is a great dad who has a lot of fun playing with Andra. One game he plays with her is “Where’s Andra?”. It is very cute. He lifts her up and puts her on his head and says, “Where’s Andra?”. She cackles in delight and when he brings her down she squeals some more and arches her back for more. Yes it is modified peak-a-boo but so much cuter.

In, out and balls

Andra is very in to balls right now as well as taking things out and putting them in. And lets not forget taking books off shelves. She likes to take everything out of her toy baskets and then put them back in. She has to stop when she gets the ball and “elephant” basket out and just practices putting the ball in and taking it out. Then she goes back to taking all the toys out. It is great fun to watch the brain at work.

Another first

Andra got her first booboo today. She was reaching /playing with a toy and lost her balance. I tried my best not to freak out too bad. She only cried for a moment and then wanted to get back to playing. I had to make sure it did not go in her eye and it didn't. We will see what it looks like tomorrow.

Happy July 4th!

While we did not get to go to the family party today we did get to go for an afternoon swim at C and Z's. We had a great time as always!

Happy July 3rd!

We went to Lake Travis for July 4th on the 3rd. While we did not get to stay for the fireworks it was allot of fun. Andra loves to wave flags and talk on the phone so Alba was helping with both.

Family picture

While not everyone made it in the picture most of us did. This was on Saturday before we left. Andrew's mom and Bryan drove into town to wish us good bye, as did Brian (Andrew's brother-in-law) and the kids. My parents took a break from dancing before we went over with them to do some more dancing.

Square dance anyone?

My parents were in Long Beach for a National Square dance convention. They are National officers and we (Andrew and I) lovingly call them green people because they have to wear green. These pictures were taken over a few days that we were there.

Andra was loved by all who saw her. She was so happy when she saw this "horse".

We were in the Parade of States. (At the convention there are dancers from every state and many different countries. ) Andra had a BLAST with the flag. She did not cry or even care when we walked in the arena and everyone clapped and cheered, it was loud too.

Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach

Andra had a blast at the aquarium. She was squeal, cackled and laughed. She even loved the walking creature. Andra grabbed the foam teeth and scared the poor teenager inside the costume.

She wanted to "pet" the sharks.

She even liked to watch the seals swim!

After four days we went to stay at Andrew’s sister’s house for a day before we went to the hotel for the rest of the visit. The kids had a lot of fun playing with each other.

Andrew’s mom’s house is amazing! We had so much fun just sitting around talking. We went swimming and walked around the land. The flowers are amazing. Did I mention they have avocado trees! We had fresh great avocados. Andra loved them, as did we. We also made fresh lemonade we all the lemons from the lemons trees.

The San Diego Zoo!!!

On Father’s day we went to the San Diego zoo. Andra had a blast as did we. She loved to look and squeal at the animals. We got to see the panda bears, elephants and many other animals. It is a great zoo. We did not get to see it all but we saw a lot of it. And yes she had a hat on when she was not in her stroller but we took it off for pictures.
