Zoo in December

Andra and I needed to get out of the house so Andrew could do some loud work around the house. It was great out side, in the mid 60s and sunny so off to the zoo we went. Andra loved the monkeys, bears and birds. She was so excited to get to go in the children's area and run and play. Not so happy that we had to leave.

no longer bottom 10%

At Andra's 15.5 month appointment we found out that she is no longer in the bottom 10% of the charts. She weighs 20lb 12oz (25%), is 30 1/4 inches tall (40%) and her head is 18 1/2 inches in circumference (75%). This is also the first time her head was not in the (90+%) !! She is starting to grow into that head!
She was a happy go lucky baby until the shots.

Santa!

Molly Quirk came to San Antonio for Photos with Santa. Andra did great. While she was not jumping for joy to be with Santa she was not screaming either. Molly did a great job. She will be doing Santa pictures in Austin soon and I highly recommend her! She did a great job working with Andra and got great shots. here are just a few.......

Drifting...and more

If you did not know, Andrew loves cars. He loves all cars. He USED to race, had nitrous in his car, and introduced me to what a "daily driver" car was. Anyway, Andra loves her car too and rides around the living room on it. Andrew was helping her slide out the back end of the car aka drifting. Cute, but not that safe but she loved it. Yes, Andrew stayed with her the whole time so she would not fall off. Just along for the ride...

We need a fridge lock. If we turn around this is where Andra like to play. She loves to just take things out and put them on the floor.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving with family in Austin at Jim and Alba's house. The lake is still very low. The water should be over Andrew and Andra's heads.Andra got to see her cousin Cici. They are very cute and are starting to play with each other (Cici is 4 months younger then Andra).
Andra was very happy to play with her Godfather Mark.

Andra even got to wear the sheriff's hat.

I'm home!

I was in Seattle for 5 days for a conference. Yes, that left Andrew at home with Andra by himself. He did a great job! I did set him up with pre-made home made food for him and Andra for the week. And made a list of everything that had to go in her lunch box, and what of Andra food to take out of the freezer to make sure she had different veggies at every meal. It was great to video chat with them a few times a day but was very hard to not be home with them. I cried on the airplane up and the first few nights and then again when the pilot said we were getting ready to land in SA. That said, it was great to see and spend time with my sister-in-law Jennifer. I had never been to Seattle so she showed me the town.

Daddy's helper

Andrew had to replace the mailbox so Andra wanted to help. Then they went inside to draw. We tried to get her to let us outline her hand for hand turkeys but she wanted none of it.

Double dipper

We went to Chuy's for dinner on Friday. They have a great jalapeno ranch dressing that they bring you in a bowl to dip your chips in (yes, they bring hot sauce as well). We had our waitress bring a small bowl of regular ranch because Andra was protesting that we were not letting her dip her chips. She was so cute when she got "her" ranch. She would "adjust" her chip to make sure it was just right for dipping. She did so good and was so proud of herself. This was the first time she dipped anything and she really did a great job. Yes, she ate all her dinner after we let her have some ranch and chips. The video is not great because it was taken with Andrew's iphone.

Hurricane Andra

Another Little Gym picture but this one is for the hair!

Andra loves The Little Gym

This video is a little long but ........On Halloween The Little gym had an open house for you to come play. Normally you can only go during your "class" time. Andra loves to go. She does best when there is someone to watch first but did very good on her own on Saturday. The one new thing she did was a "climbing" wall. It has never been out when we are there so it was new to Andra. We did not think she would go very high because we had not seen anyone go up it. We were wrong. She did get a little stuck at the bar but then had fun watching all the kids while she was up there. This is why even thou she is "small" for her age her crib mattress is already at the lowest level.

Happy Halloween!

We had a full day of Halloween fun. We had not gone to the pumpkin patch yet so we went to a local church that still had some out. Andra had so much fun walking around and trying to pick them up. Here she is trying to sit on a pumpkin that is almost as tall as her. It was great to have my mom here for the weekend. She came in on Friday to babysit so Andrew and I could go to the ballet.
Andra's Wela (my mom) brought her another vintage toy. It is my "three men in a tub" bath toy. Andra loved it! I love that currently her favorite toy is a dog that my grandmother made me.
In the afternoon we went to The Little Gym open time. Andra loves the little gym. I am going to post a video of her going up the "rock wall".
While Andra did not go trick or treating she did help me hand out candy. She loved seeing all the kids. Then to make the night perfect, we ran out of candy before the UT game started.

Andra and goat cheese

Andra loves goat cheese and most other white cheese. She was a mess this night and it just called out for a picture. There is butternut squash, cheese and alfredo sause and even some pasta on that cute face.

dance moves

Andra danced for her Dad and Aunt Alma. So she missed one "step" at the end of the dance, i think she is so cute. She is very into sitting on things right now so I assume she was trying to sit on the step down between the rooms.

party at Tim's

We went to a party at our Uncle Tim’s house on Saturday. We do not have stairs and Andra thought they were great.
This is her taking a break on the first landing.
Here Andra was trying to explain to her Dad that she was having fun and wanted to go back up.

If we were not on the stairs we were doing laps. We love to walk.

We love to wave good-bye too!

Catch up

The next couple of posts are catch up from the last two weekends and last week. We had a different week last week. Andra got sick so a trip to the Dr told us she did not have the flu (either of them) nor did she have strep but she did have an ear infection. This is her second ear infection and the first time she had a fever with the infection. Neither time has she has sleep or eating problems and she was not pulling on her ears. This was the first time they gave her penicillin. So last week we learned she is allergic to penicillin. Thankfully she just got sick and got an ugly rash, no breathing problems or other really bad reaction. Mind you the whole time she was running around playing. The only thing that told us she was sick was the fever and then the rash. And Benadryl does not make all children sleepy.

Bow on Bow off

As you can see in many pictures Andra is bowless. This is because she has learned to take them off. I will continue to try and we will see if they come back :(

it was cold out

On Sat before the UT/ou game we went for our walk/jog. It was cold (57ish) so Andra got to wear this cute warm-up out fit. It was still a little big but it was cute. In this picture, as in most, it looks like she has no hair.

Look hair!

Here are some random pictures from this past week

Andrew and I saw this phone at Target. It was in the vintage toy area. VINTAGE, I do not think so. We both remember having this phone and are sure our mother's still have them somewhere. So we had to get it for Andra. What was funny was that she knew just how to use it, even thou none of our phones look like this.

Andra got her "treat" bag in the mail this week.

This was from two Sundays ago. It was cold and we got to dress warm for church.
and yes we had shoes on for church but she takes them off as soon as she can.
