Family day at Kalmar

Andra was a little confused when we told her we were going to a party today.  We told her it was not that kind of party and we did not know who or what would be there.

She was so excited to see a face painter when we walked in the door.  This is the first time we have let her get her face painted.  She was SOOOOO happy.

This is Andrew and Andra by a tire of the machine that they make on site.

and then they got in the cab.  They make it for the US military for use in the field but have made it for civilian use.

This is the newer smaller vehicle  they have started to make.

We then went to Andrew's office so Andra could see where Daddy works. 

It is such an IT, all male office it makes me laugh.

Well, it is summer and that means swimming at our friends C and S's house.

Allen time

We went up to Allen, north of Dallas, to spend a week with a friend of mine that I met in kindergarden.  Yep that was a long time ago.  For the week Andra went to VBS with her kids while we were there.  Andra was so excitied! She calls Tina's kids her cousins and LOVES staying there.

This is Allison and Andra on day one of VBS.  Allie is Andrew and I's God daughter. 

 Then we went to her other cousin's house to swim. 

Andra had a blast with Jocey.  If was fun to see Andrew and Chanler but Andra was most taken with Jocey.

I started to play with our new camera.

That is untill it died.  That is the problem when Andrew is not with us, I forget to do stuff like charge the camera.

These are Tina's (in the center) neighbors.   They are great ladies and have a great neighbor.  I love that all the kids just go between the houses!

Texas Folklife

We went to the Texas Folklife festival this year. 

It is a HUGE festival that explores all the different cultures, traditions, dancing and food that make up Texas.  I went and performed most of my life growing up.

This was at our first stage.  I am not sure why I did not get any pictures of the Irish dancers but this was Andra trying to join them.

Then it was time for a "train" ride

Then it was time to go home 

We had so much fun!

I am so glad to share this with Andra and cannot wait till she starts to perform there as well!

Last day of School

Today is Andra's last day of school.  She has grown so much; physically, mentally and even her hair!

 This is the first day of school.  No her hair is not pulled up or back, it is down!

Andra's teacher was laughing so hard as she was telling me the story.  She said Andra says and does stuff like that all the time at school. 
 
Yep, Andrew and I are in so much trouble.

Sprinkler time!

C & S gave Andra this sprinkler a few years ago.  Yes I said years.  Last year was really the first year we could use it and Andra wanted nothing to do with it.

This year she likes!

Sea World Aquatica

On Saturday we went to Sea World for the new water park, Aquatica.

Andra just could not wait. 

 Not alot of pictures, but the day made me want a waterproof camera.

There is a ride that has you go under the area where stingrays and fish swim.  Andra was very excited to be tall enough to go on that ride.  Was a little sad that she could not do others; but it did not last long as we would find another ride/pool that she liked. 

 Now we were very good about putting sunblock on, but we missed a few spots on Andrew. 

 Can you tell he had his water shoes on?

 Yes, Andrew got burned but Andra and I didn't!

We had a great time!!!!

I am so glad that we have season passes and that Andra and I will be going many times during summer!

Sea World Time

After the performance we went out to lunch and then to Sea World!

Andrew had taken the day off so we wanted to take advantage of it.

 Andra is tall enough for some big girl rides now, and she LOVES them.

 This was Andra's first ride on a real rollercoster.  She loved it, I promise.  She asked to go again right when we got off.  The good thing was that no one else was there so we were able to get off walk around and go again, and again!

We also got to see the ski show.  It was closed last year because there was just no enough water in the pond.  It was an enjoyable show.

Andra's school had their end of year performance. 

Andra's class performed 3 songs and Andra did what she loves to do....she performed!

We just can not keep the girl from a microphone.

 The teacher tried to get her back in line.  She went for a little bit but then .....

 went back to the mic 

She loved it.  The two girls behind her are her best friends at school.  The three are always together and all three will be moving to the next class next year together!  Andra was on the edge because the next class is 4-6 year olds and the class they are in is 2-4.  Andra will not be 4 till after school starts but she "passed" all the skills needed to move to the next class!  So next year, she will be the youngest, and shortest, in the room again.

Andra had her first recital on Saturday.

(OK on Sunday we figured out that Bella and Andra are 4th cousins but who's counting!)
