We went up to Austin to spend time with Dan, Ashley and her little boy

 Last Day

It has been a great year. Andra has grown sooo much this year (physically, mentally and spiritually )!

We have loved our time at MVM and will miss it next year when she goes to Kindergarten!! 

Watermelon day

MVM has watermelon day (think Field Day)

Andra soooo wanted a pink shirt but all they have left was a 7/8 but she had to have it.

 yes, she has shorts on !

Mischa's Birthday party

Miash had her birthday at Landa library and park today.

They had a great dress up - photo booth area  

 the hair was very popular

 as was the "fairy ears" as the girls called them

 

later on the play ground Max was showing the girls how to dance

 then they started to read the books around the park area

Alley Girl

We got Alley in August of 2001.  She got her name because Courtney (who graduates high school this week) knew what an alley cat was but not a stray dog, so she told her mom (Katy) that an alley dog was in the back yard.  Then we drove down (Andrew and I were both in Plano at the time)  to go to Katy's birthday party and left SA with Alley.  We have very few pictures of her at that time because (ha ha) we were using film.

 2006 

 Alley had her first tumor remover in December of 2011.  She was good until November of this year when the cancer came back.  We did a round of chemo and she was in remission but the chemo gave her diabetes.  Then about 6 weeks ago we found out the cancer was back.  We decided to make her as comfortable as we could for as long as we could without chemo again. 

This is one of the last pictures we have of her.  You can see her right ear is raised because of a tumor that was on her head.

 She was our first child, our Alley Girl, and she will be missed greatly.

Austin time

We were going to go up to Austin on Saturday but it rained 10 inches in a few hours in San Antonio. We were so worried and working outside in the rain to make sure water did not get in the house that we did not take pictures.  It had slowed by the afternoon but many roads in the city were closed so we did not go up to Austin until Sunday.  To help us out, Jim and Alba watched Andra while Andrew and I meet my parents and went to an awards dinner (see below)

While we were at the dinner; Jim and Alba took Andra around campus!

I received the NISOD Excellence Award for teaching in Higher Education.

What made it extra special was that my Mom and Dad were there as was my mentors and friends Suzel and Carolyn.  My Dad was there because of his job at TJC but my Mom, Suzel and Carolyn were just there for support.  Jim and Alba were going to go but stayed with Andra instead.

off to the zoo

After the performance we took Andra to the zoo.  We had promised her we could eat at the zoo, little did we know the resturent would be closed.  She did not mind eatting snack food for lunch.

Then we went to feed the birds

 and went to the petting zoo

 

 Then we walked around the rest of the zoo and just enjoyed the day.

Brown Bag day

Andra's school had their end of year singing presentation called Brown Bag Day

Here is are the 4-5-6 classes

 they were dogies singing a few dogie based songs

they did a great job!

Kiddie park time

Andra and her BFF had a great play date at Kiddie Park

For those not from SA this place has been there forever, it was recently redone but still looks a lot like it did when I was a kid

Mother's day fun

For Mother's Dave Andrew gave me a great gift, I got to sleep in !!!

Andra wakes up at 5:30am everyday..Sunday-Saturday..and she wakes up happy and ready to go, she is the example of bright eyed and bushy tailed

 

When I did wake up, Andrew asked what I wanted to do so after church we went to lunch

 and then for a ride in the park.

It was a fun family day

Saturday in Pflugerville

First stop...Taco Shack

 Then we went to Amanda's house so Andrew could look at she computer and we could just hang out

Then I took Andrew and his friends to the Rogness 1year anniversary (the picture below was taken when we got home and Andrew was testing a coworker his new phone case)

 Amanda took Andra to Madeline's soccer game, I got there just in time to see Andra being the orange handout girl...Andra was very excited

 Then back to the cousin's house to play with their pets

 When the brewry time was over Andra and I went to pick up Andrew and his friends.

I wish I had pictures of this but alas I do not; probably a good thing.
