Swimming time

After some fun time at the KWF we were of to swim class.
She LOVES the slide!!!yep has no problem going under the water... (give me a break, i have my contacts in)
She LOVES it! After swimming it was back to her dress.

I swear from the front she still looks bald but I swear she has hair now, at least in the back of her head. Still not enough for a clip bow and the girl will not leave on a headband.

King William Fair

It is Fiesta time in San Antonio. For those not from SA it is a 14 day party! Yes we get off school for it; from pre-school to college. This year we had to choose between the pooch parade and the King William Fair parade. Andra has been to the pooch parade and has never been to a human one so off to King William we went. It is a small parade by fiesta standers but it is a great one for a 20 month old. Andra dancing and watching with Daddy. Then Andra and I moved to the front row to watch. She had alot of fun. She liked all the people and animals. About the only time she got a little scared was when a band came by and the drums stopped right in fount of us. Then she just put her hands over her ears and told them to leave.

after the parade we walked around the fair area. There were LOTS of people so Andrew went on Andrew's shoulders.
then decided his head was a drum; too bad i had the camera on the wrong setting for action
We had alot of fun at this fun Fiesta event!

zoo afternoon

This afternoon it finally stopped raining so we went out to the zoo. In SA it is FIESTA time that means lots of people everywhere! When we were almost to the zoo the car lines looked like spring break. I forgot that there was New Orleans Fest near the zoo but there was an area for just zoo people to park so we still got to go. This was the first time we got to see Africa Live 2. At one place Andra was standing at the glass when the hippo came right up to her. His head was taller than she was and she thought it was great. Here she is walking in the new area. a cute bird that a random little girl called an Easter egg in a tree
yep my girl loves to run! She was chasing the wild African dogs from one window to the next.
I just thought he was cute.
The San Antonio Zoo has a great child's area. They have lots of activities just for the kids under 5 and windows placed just for them. Here Andra is looking at the ground hogs.
We had a great day!

Andra's surgery

Andra was to have surgery on Monday. So on Sunday we got ready. Monday morning went well. Andrew and I got up at 4:45am to get her to the hospital by 6am. We did it, then the intake nurse told us that the surgery was on Tuesday, April 13th. The paperwork I had from the pediatric ENT office said Monday, April 13th. So, Andra went back in the car seat and off we went. Tuesday we did it all again. On Tuesday, we got to the hospital at 6am again :) Once in the pre-op area Andra did her part and charmed every nurse and doctor who walked by. While the other kids were sitting quietly in their beds, Andra was running up and down the bed, singing, dancing, and waving Hi to everyone. Then the sleepy medicine started to kick in. Andrew held her for a while and then gave her to me. Then the hardest part came....the nurse came and took her out of my arms and took her into the surgery area and we had to say good bye. About 15mins later the Dr came out and said everything went great. He told us the left ear was filled with fluid and puss so they had to clean it out and it might bother her more then the right ear. (She failed the hearing test on the left side so we were expecting this) A few minutes later we were able to go see her. The first 20mins she was in and out. The nurse said to start to give her water and she took that. Then a few minutes later the nurse said to give her milk. She ate drank some so they let us go home. Then on the way home she throw-up all over Andrew's backseat. Bevo took the biggest hit but she got it everywhere. By noon she was wanting food and chasing the pets; by 2pm she was still running around and I wanted a nap.
All in all, everything went great and we went swimming today!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! The picture is not that great because of the shadow but Andra was a happy girl. We started off the day at 7:30mass and then off to breakfast with Alma and Sylvia. Thank you Grandma Terry for the bunny purse.
Then we came home to play with our new Legos!
Then it was off to have an Easter egg hunt in the front yard with help from Alma and Sylvia.
Andra left her basket in one place and brought the eggs to it.
then fun with bubbles...
and of course cascarones. She is very nice with them. She pops her finger throw the paper part and then dumps them on your head, then tosses them on the ground.

Easter at the Ranch

We went to my Grandmother's ranch for a pre-Easter party. We were late and missed most of the organized fun but Andra had a great time. The Girls! Princes Cici and Andra.
Alma helping Andra play with Cici's bubbles.
Andrew showing Andra the cows.
Andra still had to have her iphone time. She loves to look at the pictures and watch the home videos.

Highland Games

We went to the Scottish Festival on Sunday. It was a fun time to listen to bagpipes and see alot of men in skirts. No not Andrew, he wore shorts. Andra was mesmerized by the dancing.
Watching the caber toss (men in skirts tossing a telephone pole)
Here is a video of Andra dancing. I do not know how to edit the video so sorry for all the extra. The best part of the video is the first 15 seconds or so..

my little European

Yep that is her...socks and sandals.
Andra took off her tennies and was trying to put on her new sandals (Thank you C & S). So I started to take off her socks and she protested so I just put the shoes on for her. This is her father coming out :)
She then tried to pick up Dundee, all 95lbs of him.

Happy 98th Birthday!

My grandma Pima (my mother's mom) turns 98 on the 24th. She is amazing! She lives on her terms and can still tell cows what to do at her ranch and they listen! It was great to have a party and celebrate her life. 98!! I only hope to be as active at 98! My Dad's sister and brother-in-law, Don and Judy, were in town and got to come to the party!
Here is my cuz Molly and her baby Cici. This is a picture to show Andra why Cici (who is younger then Andra by 4 months) will always be taller than her.
Do not mind the baby's faces this was at about 8pm WAY past bed time!
I love this picture because Andra is looking at her cousins like "What are ya'll talking about?" and no that is not a mark on her face it is a bruise where her head met the wall.
Andra LOVED the mariachis!
Tata and his sister! Judy and Don live in Chicago so it was a great treat that they were in town!
Andra and her Daddy

We had a great time and I think Andrew and I lost a few pounds chasing after Andra all night.

Spring Break fun

In college I went to the beach, snow skiing, camping and other fun places over spring break. That has changed, but I am not sure I would have it any other way. Monday I took Andra to school so I could do some spring cleaning(with an old house i have to use the smelly stuff and i did not want Andra in the house), pulled weeds and other fun stuff. Tuesday we took Andrew's car in, went to the bank and did paperwork for the house. Wednesday I had a great hour and a half conversation with my dissertation chair. None of that would have been on the list when i was in college, including talking with a professor!! What made it great was all the extra time i got to spend with Andra. We went to the park, played, colored, and just had fun. Monday, taking her back to daycare for a full day 9-3 will not be fun for me. I really enjoyed having her home, lunching with friends, and just hanging out. I know I am lucky that i do not work 8-5 and that i should have taken her more days this past week to get my own work done i just loved having her home and not getting a lot done. I did not take many pictures but we did have a lot of fun. It was also great to have my parents here at the end of the week.

Thank you Aunt Judy!

My Aunt Judy has made Andra a few outfits. Here is one that Andra wore this past weekend. To make it a complete Aunt Judy outfit she wore her "running" shoes too. Andra loves her New Balance shoes! It took us a while to find pink ones but they are cute and Andra does love to run!
